Tiger trailer

Tiger Trailers, the trailer manufacturer set up by former Cartwright Group joint MDs John and Steven Cartwright, has secured a series of orders from major operators, some of whom previously bought from Cartwright.

Gloucester 3PL Downton has ordered 60 Tiger curtainsided trailers for use on a variety of work, including paper, glass and brewery distribution. The 13.7m trailers are built to the EN 12642XL standard and use Tiger’s over-chassis beam floor design for a completely flat floor surface. Downton ordered 180 trailers from Cartwright in 2013.

Orders for 13.7m doubledeck trailers have also been placed by Expert Logistics, which is taking 10 curtainsiders with a full-length hydraulic moving deck, B&M, which has placed an order for 30 curtainsided stepframe trailers with fixed second decks and Dhollandia twin tier tailifts, and Dee Set, which has bought five van stepframe trailers with hydraulic three-quarter moving decks.

Tiger Trailers was formed in April with the Cartwright brothers as joint MDs and Darren Holland appointed sales director. Its factory in Winsford, Cheshire began producing trailers in July using a new state of the art automated beam welder, and offers the option of a paint-free hot dipped galvanised finish.

  • Mark Hudson has joined Tiger Trailers as production director having been a manager at the Cartwright Group. He said: "The opportunity presented at Tiger to work with John and Steven again is fantastic. What they have created is unique in the industry, with a fresh approach and it is really exciting to be part of it."
