City Link has completed a restructure of its executive board, appointing three new directors.

It has appointed ex-Hermes operations director and former Tradeteam MD Liam Tucker as operations director. He replaces Adele Henderson. Tucker has also held logistics roles at Iceland Foods and Scottish Courage.

David Biggs will join as sales and marketing director on 13 October, replacing Tim Brown. Biggs joins from coffee manufacturer Matthew Algie, where he is currently sales and marketing director. He has held senior positions with Pepsico, Tropicana and News International.

Nick Capell took up the newly-created role of chief information officer in June. Prior to this, he held senior IT and commercial director positions at other parcel delivery firms.

City Link CEO Dave Smith said the new appointments will create a skill set that it hopes will help drive the business forward.

He said: “The parcels market continues to be ever changing and it is vital that we are well placed to ensure that we are able to meet the increasing demands of both the market and the customer.”

“It is for this reason why we have invested so heavily in our operations over the past 12 months and introduced a plethora of new product and customer service enhancements with more in the pipeline," added Smith.

City Link recently increased capacity at its Coventry hub with the installation of an automated sort.
