Freight Shuttle (Bradford) is to introduce an additional night service, in a bid to address a perceived shortfall in good quality sub-contractors.
The company, founded 30 years ago, runs nine tractor-units and 13 trailers, non-liveried, operating predominately as a third party subcontracted haulier for the likes of Advance Processing, KGT Logistics, Rhenus Logistics, Shipley Transport, KLG Europe Bradford.
The company also works directly for manufacturers such as duvet and pillow firm John Cotton.
Freight Shuttle (Bradford) director Chris Jackson said the new service would start from the 1 September when “we will have vehicles available for night work. There will be dedicated drivers who have slept during the day and are ready and eager for work whether it be to pallet network hubs or RDCs”.
Jackson added that he had decided to launch the new service after reading several articles about the lack of reliable subcontractors currently in the market.
Vehicles will be available from 6.30pm, leaving the haulier’s Bradford depot, and will return by 5.30am. The company will continue to operate as normal thoughout the day.
