Grocontinental has opened a £6.5m chilled warehouse and taken delivery of 65 new trucks in response to increasing customer demand. The trucks, a mixture of Euro-6 Daf XFs and Euro-5 TGX 6×2 units [under derogation], will all be in operation by the end of the year. Ryder Europe has purchased CV contract hire and fleet management specialist Euroway for an undisclosed sum. Euroway has a total fleet of 1,419 CVs, ranging from 3.5 tonners to tractor units, plus trailers. Daf is the dominant supplier to Euroway. In 2010, its combined divisions generated a combined turnover of about £22m and a pre-tax loss of circa £730,000.
