Laundry-company Fishers Services has taken delivery of 25 Euro-5 Mercedes-Benz Axor trucks under derogation via Ryder. The Axors are fitted with tail lifts and 27ft box bodies. They come after Fishers took 24 Daf trucks and Mercedes vans from Ryder late last year. All are replacements for the operator’s 87-strong fleet. Doncaster-based BJS Storage and Distribution has inked a contract hire deal with Ryder for 50 new curtainside trailers.
DBC Foodservice had no vehicle assets despite having 230 of them when it went under in March, as its fleet was run on a contract-hire basis. The £300m turnover company supplied some of the best known cafes, restaurants and bars on the high Street including Caffé Nero, Prezzo, Loch Fyne and vodka bar chain Revolution.
