Morrisons has extended its home delivery service into Hull and Manchester as it continues with plans to offer grocery deliveries to 50% of UK addresses by the end of the year.
Deliveries in the two areas began on Monday 2 June and follow the introduction of similar operations in Yorkshire, London and Warwickshire earlier in the year.
The latest expansion has seen the supermarket offer the service to almost a million more addresses across Manchester, Hull and Beverley, East Riding.
Morrisons claims that it has so far achieved a 96% success rate for delivering on time, and hopes to maintain that figure by working in partnership with Ocado, which won the contract to supply IT and half of its Dordon DC to the supermarket last year.
Jamie Winter, trading director of online food at Morrisons, said: “We’re proud of our Northern heritage and are delighted to arrive in Manchester and Hull.”
