Staveley, Chesterfield tanker operator Hopkinson Transport has been acquired by Norbert Dentressangle. Established in 1987, the hitherto family-owned firm specialises in the storage and transport of bulk powder and PVC resin, operating a fleet of 25 vehicles from Staveley and a second site at Newton Aycliffe. It employs a total of 34 drivers, warehouse and administration staff and has an annual turnover of £4m. Unite “surprised” by XPO takeover of Kuehne + Nagel UK logistics portfolio and demands workers’ pay and conditions are unaffected
The transfer of 6,000 Kuehne + Nagel workers to XPO Logistics came as a surprise to the Unite union, but it said it would work to ensure their pay and conditions remained unaffected.
