Many of the UK’s major 3PLs will be demonstrating their latest initiatives at year’s Multimodal, which takes place at the Birmingham NEC alongside the CV Show on 29 April to 1 May.
DSV Road will be making its return to the exhibition and will have a dangerous goods safety adviser available at its stand on Thursday 1 May to offer advice on the transport of chemicals.
Members of the DSV team will also be available to answer questions from visitors that wish to import or export other types of product, and will be launching a series of white papers to help customers.
"Many small businesses are seeking to expand their product range or the number of countries they export to, so it is important to talk to an expert who can help design the most efficient and cost-effective supply chain," said Chris Malyon, sales and marketing director at DSV Road.
Howard Tenens will be in attendance with a "larger and more prominent" stand than before. It will be showcasing the work it does for some of its client base, many of which began new business relationships with the operator at past shows including Costa Express and BSW Timber.
Commercial and marketing director Jamie Hartles said: "Multimodal is an excellent way to meet new customers, showcase Howard Tenens and gauge current logistics industry performance and best practice through the seminar offering."
Among the major 3PLs exhibiting at the show is Wincanton, which will be inviting customers to learn more about its range of transport, warehousing and specialist services. The senior management team from its container logistics business will also be able on hand to help visitors with specific inbound transport requirements.
Ceva Logistics will also return to the show and plans to demonstrate the services it offers customers, specifically in the automotive, technology, industrial, consumer and retail sectors.
Ex-England footballer and manager Kevin Keegan will also be attending the show as a guest of port operator DP World London Gateway.
DP World London Gateway’s commercial director Peter Ward said: "Kevin Keegan is still one of the most iconic and legendary players we have ever produced. Having him as our guest speaker at the VIP Multimodal dinner has already attracted so much interest."
Princess Anne, patron of transport charity Transaid will also take part in a panel discussion on 30 April focusing on the charity’s work. The discussion will be part of a series of best practice seminars organised by the CILT, and separate seminar sessions have been organised by the FTA. Topics include click and collect and reverse logistics, customs classification and understanding supply chain finance.
Among those new to this year’s show are Palletline, TPN and Mini Clipper Logistics, joining over 200 exhibitors including Elddis Transport, Malcolm Logistics, Maritime Transport and AV Dawson. Equipment and software providers including Briggs Equipment, The Rack Group and Fargo Systems will also be showcasing their products, the latter of which will unveil updates to its transport management system mobile app.
