Royal Mail has won a two-year contract to collect and deliver bulk mail for councils across London. The contract was awarded following a competitive tender in which 14 London councils collaborated to reduce delivery costs, using the Government Procurement Service’s bidding process. The FTA has welcomed proposals from local government secretary Eric Pickles that would give businesses the power to force a review of local parking restrictions they are unhappy with.
