Kent operator DF Services has been acquired by investment firm HLD Group for an undisclosed sum.

The car transporter company has been acquired by the business turnaround firm, which hopes to increase its turnover.

Demis Ohandjanian, CEO of HLD Group and director at DF Services, said the fact that the operator ran its own vehicle workshop alongside a fleet of more than 50 vehicles helped in its decision to purchase the company.

"Other providers of its size do not [have a workshop], this really sets them apart from the competition and it is an exciting acquisition for us," said Ohandjanian.

A spokeswoman was unable to disclose the value of the deal.

Funding for the deal was provided by Aldermore, and HLD Group focuses on acquiring companies in materials distribution, manufacturing and engineering.
