The FTA has welcomed yesterday’s (24 October 2019) news that the EU has approved the extension of two contingency measures by another seven months to maintain road haulage and air connectivity in the event of a No Deal Brexit.

The furlough scheme must allow for part-time working and flexibility this month if UK logistics is to stave off a tidal wave of redundancies, according to the FTA.
In contrast to the RHA – which looked outside the organisation to the transport industry for its new CEO – the FTA appointed its former finance and operations director David Wells to replace CEO Theo de Pencier when he announced his departure earlier this year.
