Turnover at Boughey Distribution fell during the first half of its current financial year, despite winning a number of long-term contracts. Results for the half year to 30 November 2013, published by parent company NWF Group, showed a 2.1% decline in turnover at the food distribution arm to £18.5m (H1 2012: £18.9m). UK Mail saw its highest ever daily volumes across its parcels and mail divisions in March, the firm reported in its pre-close trading update today (9 April), but would not reveal the actual numbers.
Skills for Logistics (SfL) has started the roll-out of its Logistics Guild and revealed it will be free to join. The modern day guild, which MT revealed had secured funding last month (17 September), is described as “a member network run by members”.
