Eddie Stobart and AW Jenkinson Forest Products will add 1,500 Euro-6 Scanias to their fleets as part of a renewed joint procurement agreement. Orders will be placed throughout 2014 and 2015, including an initial order for 150 vehicles, in what the manufacturer described as its biggest Euro-6 order to date. Volvo Group has made a €400m (£317m) provision after being notified by the European Commission (EC) that it is suspected of involvement in a cartel, along with several other heavy- and medium-duty truck manufacturers.

Next month we should expect to see full financial year results from Fowler-Welch parent company Dart Group. The only hint of the performance at Dart’s logistics arm came on 19 April when it said: “The business remains well placed for profitable growth.” Even the date in July of its full-year results remain as enigmatic as that statement… but there are some clues.
