Temperature-controlled specialist Nagel-Langdons is investing £5.5m in a new 54,000ft² warehouse for its Scottish operation.

The 10-acre site - located on the Eurocentral Business Park, near Motherwell in Lanarkshire - will include chilled and frozen chambers with all-pallet access racking for up to 1,500 pallets, with its cross-docking platform capable of handling more than 500 pallets per hours.

Due for completion by late May, the facility will also provide parking for up to 100 lorries, a two-storey office block and a vehicle workshop.

Nagel-Langdons general manager for Scotland, Malcolm Wilde, said: “Over recent years we have gradually built up our business into and out of Scotland and now this exciting new development will give us significant additional storage and pallet throughput capacity and confirms the company’s on-going commitment to the food industry in Scotland.”

In May last year, the company boosted its Scottish fleet with two new Gray & Adams trailers equipped with Anteo tuck-under tail-lifts, Whiting roller shutter doors and the latest Thermo-King Spectrum fridge units to cope with urban deliveries.
