Tables for the Motor Transport Awards that will be presented on 2 July at London's Grosvenor House Hotel are almost sold out, so book now to avoid disappointment.

The shortlist for the 19 awards categories has now been revealed on the Awards website in a special video sponsored by Goodyear, so take a look at the company you will be in by joining us at the biggest night in road transport.

Over an intense two-day period, over 50 independent judges met to examine, discuss and debate the entries, which once again demonstrated the high levels of innovation, efficiency and service delivered by the road transport industry.

The categories for the 2014 Awards include the new Operational and Compliance Excellence, Technical Excellence and Business Excellence Awards - each designed to reflect the three most significant aspects of running a successful transport operation.

Another new category for 2014 is Temperature Controlled Operator of the Year, which will be presented to the operator – third party or own account – that can demonstrate exceptionally high standards in the field of chilled or frozen distribution.

For over a quarter of a century, a Motor Transport Award has been the most sought-after trophy in the road transport industry. The awards night is still the biggest evening on the road transport calendar, with over 1,500 people – reading like a who’s who of the industry – gathering at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London to see who will walk off with those iconic bronze trophies.

Nigel Cook, MD of the 2013 Haulier of the Year Elddis Transport (Consett), said: “Winning Haulier of the Year was an enormous honour for Elddis Transport and it was great for all of the staff’s efforts to be recognised with the ultimate award in the UK transport business.”
