Lancashire’s Ainsworth & Martin has become North West Logistics, relocating from its Preston home to a new site in Accrington. Fortec-member Ainsworth & Martin acquired North West Logistics some two years ago. The complementary businesses had been run separately, but after a £100,000 investment in the Accrington facility, Ainsworth & Martin joined its stablemate at Altham Business Estate this summer. Steve Porter Transport has won a contract to deliver solar panels to the Isle of Wight, as part of the island’s plans to invest in renewable energy.
Pallet network Fortec has achieved The Investors in Excellence Standard. It joins the likes of DHL Supply Chain within the road transport sector, and professional services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, credit checker Experian and manufacturer Bombardier beyond. The standard is a framework to help businesses assess their performance and improve it.
