The brightest female talent working in the logistics industry have until 10 February to enter the 2014 FTA Everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards.

Now in their seventh year, the awards feature seven categories including Team Leader, Rising Star, Industry Champion and Driver of the Year.

“In order to plug the current skills-gap, it is essential that more women are attracted into logistics. That is why we are calling for transport and logistics’ passionate, driven women to enter these awards, to show others it is a sector that offers the chance to develop desirable and transferable skills and where they can fulfil their ambitions,” said Maxine Benson, co-founder of Everywoman.

Theo de Pencier, chief executive of the FTA, said: “FTA is once again proud to be the title partner of the Awards. The key for the freight and transport industry is to be able to access a wider talent pool to be able to meet its need for good quality staff in whichever role it needs to fill.

“We have to reach out to all parts of the community and, in particular, to women, to recruit and retain the best and to enable all of our organisations and businesses to flourish.”

Entries can be made online at everywoman.com/tlawards. Nominations close on 10 February 2014.

Finalists will be revealed on 15 April, and winners will be announced at an awards lunch, to be held at The Savoy, London on 13 May 2014.
