Yodel has unveiled plans to open 13 additional sites in the run-up to Christmas as part of its winter delivery plans. CollectPlus is opening a Parcel Point operation at the Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield, enabling customers to drop-off packages and collect online purchases while shopping. More than 25 million shoppers use Meadowhall each year, and CollectPlus says the new service will help extend and enhance its network of sites located at 4,700 corner shops and petrol stations. Norbert Dentressangle will cease providing warehousing and distribution services to collapsed retail chain Comet from tomorrow (21 December). Last month the operator warned its five-year £100m contract with Comet, which it only signed earlier this year, was in the hands of the retail chain’s administrator Deloitte.
