The government has put in its request to the European Commission (EC) to extend the rural fuel rebate scheme to ten more UK towns. Scotland features heavily in the list with Acharacle, Achnasheen, Appin, Carrbridge, Dalwhinnie, Gairloch and Strathpeffer all nominated.
