Norbert Dentressangle has been prosecuted by Wiltshire Council after its lorries breached a weight restriction on four occasions. Volunteers in a Lorry Watch scheme reported the company after spotting the vehicles breaking the 18-tonne limit on Bradford-on-Avon’s town bridge. Norbert Dentressangle will cease providing warehousing and distribution services to collapsed retail chain Comet from tomorrow (21 December). Last month the operator warned its five-year £100m contract with Comet, which it only signed earlier this year, was in the hands of the retail chain’s administrator Deloitte. Fuel distributors and the Unite union are poised for a fourth day of negotiations over tanker drivers’ training, safety and employment terms.
