Retailer John Lewis has launched a trial allowing customers to collect goods from CollectPlus outlets.

Customers will be able to pick up items purchased online via John Lewis at 1,500 local convenience stores, supermarkets and petrol stations within the CollectPlus network, initially in Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and the South West region of England.

CollectPlus, which is a joint venture between Yodel and PayPoint and has more than 5,000 outlets, began offering a returns service for John Lewis customers in February of this year.

Sarah Ince, business development manager at John Lewis, said: “Click and collect services remain an area of huge growth for John Lewis and we’re delighted to offer this option to our customers alongside the collection service available in our own shops.

“The CollectPlus network provides us with a truly national reach and means that customers who may not necessarily live close to one of our shops can still collect their online order at their convenience.”

CollectPlus reported record volumes in May.
