Yearsley Logistics has completed the first phase of its new £20m northern ‘superhub’ in Heywood, Greater Manchester. The new 13.6-acre cold, which will be constructed in three phases, will double the chilled distribution specialist’s pallet capacity from 40,000 to 80,000 units per night. Culina has won a new distribution contract with Bute Island Foods to transport its vegan Sheese product to wholesalers and retailers across the UK. The food firm originally ran its Sheese distribution operation from Scotland, however, it decided it would be able to reach a wider market more effectively by switching to a logistics provider with national capabilities and a stronger southern presence.
