A revival in activity within the construction sector helped ET Holdings more than treble profit before tax in the year to the end of March 2014, from £192,000 to just under £760,000.
A continued move from straight transport to logistics activities including warehousing, packing and freight forwarding helped Glasgow-based Gordon Leslie Group achieve a 20% rise in pre-tax profit in the year to 30 September 2012. Wincanton has delivered a “boringly predictable” set of results for the six months to 30 September 2013, with group turnover down 1.6% at £542.3m and operating profit up 2.1% to £24.2m compared with the same period last year.
