UK Mail will move into its 45,000 ft² extended Slough depot at the beginning of August, almost doubling the space it has in the area.

The newly-refurbished site on Buckingham Avenue will nearly double the company’s presence on the Slough Trading Estate, which also includes a 24,000 ft² site on nearby Berkshire Avenue.

The new warehouse has been taken on under a 15-year lease and forms part of chief executive Guy Buswell’s plans to extend five of its depots by the end of 2013.

Head of property at UK Mail, Paul Hutchison, said: “The estate’s great infrastructure and its proximity to key transport networks ensures we can deliver outstanding service to our customers, making this an ideal location for a logistics services company.”

UK Mail, which saw an 18% increase in pre-tax profit in 2012/13, will also be investing £20m in automated sortation equipment this year.
