Felixstowe-based Maritime Transport has won the Haulier of the Year award at Tesco’s recent Primary Distribution supplier conference. Supermarket giant Tesco has appointed Andrew Woolfenden as its new UK distribution director, following the naming last week of former incumbent Alex Laffey as chief executive of Eddie Stobart.
The Unite union has accused Tesco of getting Stobart Group “to do its dirty work” for it, after the 183 drivers based at the operator’s Doncaster DC were told they faced possible redundancy.
