Schenker, the UK division of German firm DB Schenker Logistics, has taken a delivery of a mixed fleet of 43 new trucks as it looks to increase the number of lightweight vehicles on its operations. The new fleet comprises of 25 7.5-tonners and 15 18-tonne trucks, including Volvo, Daf, Renault and Iveco. Bibby Distribution has become the latest operator to commit to a fleet refresh, with MAN set to deliver a total of 450 TGX tractors to the business during the next 18 months. Meachers Global Logistics has made its biggest investment in LGVs this year, after it splashed out £1.25m on 16 new Mercedes-Benz tractors. The modernisation programme will see the company taking delivery of the Mercedes Actros trucks in the months leading up to Christmas.
