DSV’s Road division has appointed Jesper Hansen as UK managing director, following former MD René Falch Olesen’s decision to concentrate on his role as group chief commercial officer. Hansen joined DSV as traffic manager for the Benelux/France region in 1997 and worked his way up to his former role of division director domestic for Sweden in 2011. DSV has awarded a three-year contract to ATS Euromaster to service the tyres on its 7,000-strong European trailer fleet. The deal will see ATS Euromaster’s mobile technicians provide routine inspections and follow-up maintenance work on around 1,000 DSV trailers travelling into and out of the UK every day. DSV Road has signed up to the Green Freight Europe initiative, as part of its commitment to minimising its environmental impact. Green Freight Europe is voluntary programme promoting cooperation between transport companies and their customers. The initiative is focused on building and maintaining a platform to collect, compute and report CO² emissions from road transport.
