Langdons has taken on two more trailers from Gray & Adams to boost its urban delivery operations in cities in Scotland. The trailers are equipped with Anteo tuck-under tail-lifts, Whiting roller shutter doors and the latest Thermo-King Spectrum fridge units to cope with urban deliveries. Controlled temperature specialist Langdons saw a 13.7% increase in turnover as it felt the benefit of a £9m investment it its Redditch depot. For the year ending 31 December 2011 turnover at Langdons Industries was £67.5m (2010: £59.4m), while pre-tax profit rose to £2.7m from £2.1m in the previous 12 month period. The Nightfreight name will disappear from UK roads as its parent company, DX Group, revealed its fleet will be re-liveried as it strengthens the acquisition it made last year.
