Women in Logistics is urging the industry to put forward nominations for its second awards night, celebrating the achievements of women in transport.

The organisation will hold its second charity ball and awards night in September with funds being raised for Transaid, which supports transport in developing countries.

Nominations are now being sought for the following categories:

Woman of the Year - sponsored by Search Consultancy

Young Woman of the Year (under 30) - sponsored by Manpower

Company of the Year (250 or more employees) - sponsored by Forton Group

SME of the Year (fewer than 250 employees) - sponsored by PepsiCo

Founder Ruth Waring said: "There are many companies in the logistics sector which demonstrate commitment and innovation in attracting, developing and retaining women at all levels.

"We want to celebrate these companies, and share their methods so the whole sector can benefit.”

The awards night will be held at the St. John’s Hotel in Solihull, West Midlands, on 20 September.
