Simarco has been granted authorised economic operator (AEO) status, after seeing an increase in import and export volumes this year. The accreditation is awarded by HMRC to companies with trusted security operations, allowing goods to be moved quickly and more efficiently through customs. Essex-based freight forwarder and haulier Simarco has purchased Longport-Staffordshire based IFB for an undisclosed sum.
Essex-based haulier Simarco increased its workforce by a fifth last year, ahead of its aquistion of freight forwarder IFB in April.
Proposals to raise the costs of vehicle testing at Vosa test stations this year will generate an extra £4.2m for the agency from its customers, but just £1.7m of this will be channelled into lowering the charges it applies for vehicle tests at authorised testing facilities (ATFs), it has emerged.
