Simarco has been granted authorised economic operator (AEO) status, after seeing an increase in import and export volumes this year. The accreditation is awarded by HMRC to companies with trusted security operations, allowing goods to be moved quickly and more efficiently through customs. The FTA has poured cold water on suggestions that operators could perform annual roadworthiness tests on their own vehicles.
Essex-based freight forwarder and haulier Simarco has purchased Longport-Staffordshire based IFB for an undisclosed sum.
Simarco plans to more than double its turnover in the next three years, after a series of acquisitions and investments at the 20-year old business.
