DPD hopes to build a £100m parcel hub in the East Midlands, increasing its overall capacity by 65%. The firm is currently in the process of obtaining planning permission to develop the purpose-built 330,000 ft² hub in Hinckley, Leicestershire, which it hopes will be fully operational in 2015. Tuffnells Parcels Express contributed £114m of revenue and £9.7m of operating profit to its new owner Connect Group in the year to the end of August, group chief executive Mark Cashmore has revealed.
