DPD hopes to build a £100m parcel hub in the East Midlands, increasing its overall capacity by 65%. The firm is currently in the process of obtaining planning permission to develop the purpose-built 330,000 ft² hub in Hinckley, Leicestershire, which it hopes will be fully operational in 2015. DPD is to deploy and additional 200 staff and open an extra London depot to minimise disruption resulting from the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
