Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE) has axed its direct-to-store delivery operation, as it

looks for a more efficient way to distribute its products.

Announced last month, the own-account operator proposes to partner with wholesalers for its remaining direct-delivery customers, as it expects they will continue to choose “alternative” delivery arrangements.

The changes will affect CCE’s sites in Bristol, East Kilbride, Northampton, Wakefield, Sidcup in south-east London and an unspec-ified location in north London.

A CCE spokeswoman said: “CCE has maintained its direct-delivery service longer than most major suppliers, and it has given us an important point of difference in a competitive market.”
