Yearsley-urban-trailers

Heywood, Lancashire based logistics service provider Yearsley Group has taken delivery of two urban semi-trailers for controlled temperature operations that it says will help ease deliveries into urban environments and reduce its carbon footprint.

The new trailers – one of which is from Gray & Adams and the other from Solomon Commercials – will carry four extra pallets compared to previous rigid vehicle configurations and are also more manoeuvrable, a spokeswoman for the logistics operator said. They will be tested nationwide over a three month period and, if successful, could lead to 20 more being ordered, she added.

“These represent our next steps in an ongoing strategy of replacing vehicles to ensure they remain as environmentally friendly and cost-efficient as possible,” said Yearsley Logistics operations director, Mark Haslam.
