Drinks distributor London City Bond has won a nationwide distribution contract with wine importer Awin Barratt Siegel (ABS).

ABS chose the firm after reviewing its supply chain and the new contract will be operated out of LCB’s 272,000 ft² site in Barking, east London.

It will use its own fleet of vehicles to deliver for the customer, giving it real time visibility of all stages of delivery.

London City Bond operations director Neil Cowey said: “In our business it is often not recognised that size really does matter, it gives us the critical mass to offer a national delivery service in our own vehicles second to none. It also gives us the ability to sustain the expensive business of continual systems development and innovation.”

Last week the operator won a three-year contract with wine supplier Burridges of Arlington St.
