The legacy of last year’s successful Olympic and Paralympic Games will be collaboration, according to the head of the FTA.

Speaking at the launch of the Logistics Report 2013 last week, chief executive Theo de Pencier said the dialogue between the road transport industry and TfL, as well as wider government, that had been kick-started by last year’s events would benefit the sector for years to come.

“This will be particularly useful as we look to find ways that CV operators and vulnerable road users, such as cyclists, can co-exist,” said de Pencier.

The report, which was produced in association with Pricewaterhouse-Coopers, also called on the government to ensure that the many planned infrastructure projects are actually built, as their construction remains a key lever for UK economic growth.
