Supermarket group Morrisons has renewed its contract with Norbert Dentressangle for the operation of two of its distribution centres in Scotland. The new contract, which extends ND’s involvement for a further two years, covers the 575,000ft² composite DC at Bellshill and the Eurocentral 85,000ft² fresh produce DC, also near Glasgow. Norbert Dentressangle has reported a 9.1% increase in pre-tax profit on the back of an 8.5% increase in annual turnover for 2012.
The threat of a tanker driver strike could now be averted, as the Unite union and fuel distribution companies reach agreement over a new set of proposals. Unite has also been given an extended industrial action mandate of 21 May to allow it time to discuss the new proposals with its 1,200 tanker driver members.
