UK Mail has conceded that its pallet business suffered a tough year in the twelve months to 31 March 2013.

In its pre-close trading statement last week, UK Mail said UK Pallets had “faced a difficult year”, and confirmed “revenues in our pallets business declined”.

This comes despite the latest data from the Association of Pallet Networks, which has seven of the nine UK pallet networks in membership although not UK Pallets, recording that its members achieved a new volume record  during 2012.

However, UK Mail said its pallet network’s position had now improved and with a new management team in place, headed by Graeme Wilson, and  “previous network issues now largely resolved”.
