Following a small-scale trial last year, Norbert Dentressangle has secured a new contract with Cambridge seed supplier RAGT Seeds for delivery of a range of cereals, maize, grass and winter oilseed rape seeds to farmers across mainland Europe.

The contract involves ND collecting seed from the Cambridge site on the day, or day after, it is harvested, for direction distribution to customers in several countries including France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland and Sweden.

RAGT assistant production manager Nick Palmer said ND had won the contract for a variety of reasons including good communication on the progress of goods in transit, careful handling of the product and its ability to make collections at short notice.

“Overall, ND has gone beyond the expectations I’ve had and I feel 100% positive the greatest care is taken, once the goods leave the RAGT warehouse,” he said.

ND declined to say what the contract duration or value were.
