Same day courier CitySprint has acquired Heathrow Baggage Services, its third acquisition in three months.

Operations and staff at the luggage delivery, replacement and repair company, have been transferred to the courier’s luggage delivery arm CityBags, which was created when Lewis Day courier operations was acquired by CitySprint in 2011.

Heathrow Baggage Services founder and MD George Poole said it will be working closely with CitySprint to ensure that business continues as usual for its customers.

CitySprint chief executive Patrick Gallagher said: “This deal marks yet another integral part of our continued growth strategy and we are privileged to have the opportunity to diversify into the luggage delivery market. We plan to continue consolidating our position at Heathrow to ensure that we can offer customers the best possible service.”

Earlier this month, CitySprint acquired Warrington-based Sameday UK, expanding its nationwide  network to 37 sites.
