Pallet networks achieved record volume last year , with almost 16 million pallets processed though the UK’s collection of central hubs. Express parcels and mail provider UK Mail Group says it is taking action to plug the gaps in its pallet distribution business UK Pallets. It reported a significant decline in operating profit from this division during the first six months of the financial year. Pall-Ex has moved to ensure coverage continuity in the South-west by buying Cornish network member Intercounty Distribution for £700,000. The company based on the Pennygillam Industrial Estate in Launceston has an O-licence for up to 22 vehicles and eight trailers. It has been a Pall-Ex member for 14 years.
