West Yorkshire-based R McDowell Distribution has put six new Scanias into operation after seeing an increase in business volumes.
The tractor units were added to the firm’s fleet after the opening of its new depot in Milton Keynes.
An increase in volumes on Scottish routes also played its part in encouraging it to expand its fleet.
Driver recruitment firm JMD Solutions provided additional drivers for the new Scanias.
Last September the firm acquired a £750,000 warehouse in Keighley as part of a contract with hair and beauty products manufacturer Mibelle.
