Global Freight Solutions (GFS) has called on online retailers to increase the number of delivery options they offer consumers and consider using more third party carriers, as demand from internet shoppers and pressure on carrier capacity continues to grow. Retailer Marks & Spencer has confirmed that its new DC in Castle Donington in the East Midlands will open this spring. The 900,000ft² site, which M&S will run itself, will create around 1,000 new jobs over time, said a company spokesman.
