Global Freight Solutions (GFS) has called on online retailers to increase the number of delivery options they offer consumers and consider using more third party carriers, as demand from internet shoppers and pressure on carrier capacity continues to grow. The GFS Review 2012 shows that B2B volumes fell by 2% last year, whilst B2C deliveries rose by 15%. Heathrow-based courier Crossflight has acquired the operations of North London firm DDI Worldwide as part of its expansion strategy. As of today (7 January), Crossflight will run DDI’s express courier, UK overnight and mail services out of its headquarters in Heathrow. Crossflight said the move will be seamless for all of DDI’s customers and the combined company will operate under the Crossflight brand.
