Electronics manufacturer Alpine has extended its nationwide distribution contract with Geodis Calberson in a deal worth over £1m.

The two year contract extension will see the firm continue to deliver products such as in-car DVD players, sat-navs, CD players and speakers to vehicle manufacturers Honda and Jaguar Land Rover, as well as retailers such as Halfords.

Geodis will operate the contract for the Japanese manufacturer out of Geodis’ Leicestershire warehouse and will deliver most orders within 24 to 48 hours after being received. It will also complete some customs clearance for products from China and Japan.

Geodis Calberson UK logistics director Alban Trompette said: “We are delighted that Alpine Electronics, which is a leader in its field, has awarded us an extension of our contract from three years to five years.

“It is testament to the close working relationship we have developed with Alpine Electronics. We pride ourselves on working closely with our customers to anticipate their needs and offer a bespoke service,” he added.
