Miniclipper Logistics has expanded its operations and vehicle fleet due to increased demand for warehousing from existing customers, as well as new business wins.
The operator has taken on an 87,000ft² warehouse a mile from its main base in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, boosting its overall warehousing capacity to 200,000ft².
Jayne Masters, sales director at Miniclipper, said it had taken on the 15-year lease following an increasing appetite from both existing and new customers for storage space.
She said the company, traditionally strong in the print and graphics market, was now picking up work in the solar power sector, having established a good reputation after an initial sales push targeting the sector.
Masters said the company had enjoyed a fantastic December and is on course for record turnover of £10m.
New vehicles
Following new additions and replacements the Miniclipper MAN fleet now stands at 35 vehicles (10 artics and 25 rigids), with 15 trailers including double and triple deck configurations.
Work has also begun on a 10,000ft² extension to the operator's offload canopy, which will double the size of the drive through loading area at its DC when complete.
Last year Miniclipper moved pallet networks, leaving Pall-Ex for Palletline.
