Somerset-based Framptons Transport Services is set to open its new Mendip DC in early January.
The new £5m, 85,000 ft² DC has been built on time and within budget by local building contractor Ken Biggs.
The Shepton Mallet-based facility will increase Framptons' storage capacity to 175,000 ft² of food-grade facilities in the region when it opens in the new year.
With 14,000 individually racked and bar-coded pallet spaces, the DC will use mechanical handling equipment and narrow aisle racking to ensure that space is managed to maximum benefit.
