European chemical transport giant Hoyer has acquired the bulk liquid division of Dutch logistics company De Rijke. The deal sees Hoyer take on 240 employees at five De Rijke offices, including its site in Preston Brook, Cheshire. JSC Russian Railways (RZD), is in talks to buy 75% of Gefco, the logistics arm of cash-strapped car maker PSA Peugeot Citroën for €800m (£640m). Hoyer Petrolog has insisted that the UK remains an important market to the German multi-national transport giant, despite forecasting flat turnover in a bulk transport market that remains in “steady decline”.
Abbey Logistics has bought the complete share capital of bulk liquid food operator Armet Logistics, creating a business with a combined turnover of £70m.
