West Bromwich-based Sheldon Clayton Group has acquired the Wednesbury, West Midlands operation of Manchester warehousing and transport firm CFT Services for an undisclosed sum. The move will see all 30 staff at CFT’s Wednesbury operation move to Sheldon Clayton’s 12-acre, West Bromwich site. Ryder Europe has purchased CV contract hire and fleet management specialist Euroway for an undisclosed sum. Euroway has a total fleet of 1,419 CVs, ranging from 3.5 tonners to tractor units, plus trailers. Daf is the dominant supplier to Euroway. In 2010, its combined divisions generated a combined turnover of about £22m and a pre-tax loss of circa £730,000. DHL Supply Chain has opened its expanded capacity warehouse for long-term customer Unilever, marking the end of a 21 month project. The Cannock, Staffordshire, centre has the capacity to house 100,000 pallets and will handle all of Unilever’s homecare and ambient food lines for the UK and Ireland – including brands such as Persil, Marmite and PG Tips.
