Cambridge-based Welch’s Transport has won a three year extension to its contract with Paperchase. The firm, which began working for the stationery, cards and gift-wrap manufacturer in 2007, makes collections from the Paperchase’s Thrapston, Northamptonshire DC and delivers to around 120 outlets. SJ Bargh has revealed another win in the dairy sector, with the news that it has renewed its contract with Dairy Crest. It comes a week after the business revealed it had signed its first totally organic milk collection contract with the Organic Milk Suppliers Cooperative. The contract extension sees SJ Bargh collecting both ordinary and organic milk from farms in Dairy Crest’s North Midland’s milk field. Transport for London’s Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (Fors) now has more than 1,300 registered members.
The dispute between Eddie Stobart and Unite threatens to run and run, after the union rejected the operator’s latest improved redundancy offer. Harriet Eisner, regional officer at Unite, said her 180-driver members were angry that the new deal did not, in their opinion, go far enough.
