TNT Express saw a 13% drop in EMEA operating profit in the third quarter, despite a 3,2% turnover rise, due to “challenging trading conditions in Europe”. Profit at TNT UK almost quadrupled in 2012, during a year that put parent company TNT Express under pressure while the proposed takeover by parcel giant UPS was being considered.
TNT Express has said it hopes to see a “positive impact” from its profit improvement plan in the second half of 2013, after reporting a 26% drop in first quarter EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) operating profit.
