Wincanton has won a five year storage and distribution contract with children’s toy and furniture manufacturer Worlds Apart. Annually, the contract will see the firm deliver 20,000 orders to around 1,350 locations, including homes and retailers. Wincanton has reported continued improvement in revenues and profitability since the initial impact of the pandemic and, following a period of recovery and stabilisation, said it had returned to growth in Q3 of the financial year.
Menzies Distribution has won a five-year national contract with Newsprinters, which will see it providing primary trunking services to the business.
Next month we should expect to see full financial year results from Fowler-Welch parent company Dart Group. The only hint of the performance at Dart’s logistics arm came on 19 April when it said: “The business remains well placed for profitable growth.” Even the date in July of its full-year results remain as enigmatic as that statement… but there are some clues.
